INT. DINING ROOM-ALMOST DAWN
CECE is seen sitting on a chair with her head on her laptop and a pen in her left hand. Files and different kinds of paper are scattered on the table. Cece is a black, medium height woman in her late 30s and she appears to be drooling. Her phone rings and she wakes up immediately. She rubs her eyes and then her mouth to clean the saliva. She picks her phone and sees SADE as the caller, she yawns as she picks the call
CECE
What is it Sade?
SADE
The witness disappeared
CECE
What do you mean by that?
SADE
The witness went back to Zaria
The sleep disappears from her eyes and confusion fills her expression
CECE
What do you mean that she went to Zaria….I mean why will she do that when she has to testify tomorrow?
SADE
I guess they got to her
Cece’s expression turns to annoyance
CECE
They got to her? And you can tell me that
She raises her voice in anger
CECE (cont.)
I gave you one job Sade, one job… watch the witness. You sat down and watch like the useless, spineless excuse of a man that you are, as they approach and bribe her or maybe threaten her into going back to Zaria and you have the gut to open your gutter of a mouth to tell me that they got to her. You must be very stupid
SADE
I am sorry ma but I am trying to get another witness
CECE
Another witness? Why are you talking like you don’t know what we went through to get this one witness. Nobody wants to testify, they are all scared out of their wits of what that corporation will do to them. This was the one witness who agreed to testify after we swore to protect her and then you lost her
SADE
I am sure we can get other staffs to testify, we ju….
CECE
I have had enough of your so called help, get me a plane ticket to Kaduna
SADE
There will be no flight to Kaduna today because of the weather condition over there
CECE

SADE
I wanted to go to Zaria and take care of the problem without you knowing and they told me that
CECE

SADE

SADE

Cece cuts the call and she screams with frustration, then she dials a number on her phone
CECE
Alex…. put a call through to Judge Ajisafe for me
She goes out of the dining room
