FLASHBACK-JAMIN-THREE YEARS AGO
EXT. A STREET IN LAGOS- DAWN
Jamin wait with AKEEM, a five year old boy in a school uniform outside the gate of their house. Akeem sees a bus painted in blue coming towards them

AKEEM

JAMIN
Yes I can see that

The bus stops in front of them and Akeem climbs in. he turns to wave to Jamin

AKEEM
Bye bye uncle Jamin

Jamin waves back, he waits till the bus leave his view. He walks back into the compound. The houses in the compound looks old and in serious need of paint. The walls are cracked and decorated with holes. Jamin walks into one of the house in the compound. The living even though it looks clean but still show the poor state of the people living in it.

JAMIN
Sister, sister

He looks around the room but he did not see his sister. He goes out of the house and goes to check the backyard where he sees her throwing knife at a male doll. The doll looks scarred with different knife scar all over it. She throw the knife to the head and she goes to pick it again. She walks few steps from it and she throws it again. She goes to pick it put again. She keeps doing this, Jamin looks confused

JAMIN
Sister, sister

No response

JAMIN (CON’T)
 Why is she not responding?

MAMA NGOZI, a tall, dark woman with a toddler on her back walks towards Jamin

MAMA NGOZI
She can’t respond because she is not here

JAMIN
What?

MAMA NGOZI
Anytime there is a huge noise, she is already throwing that knife to that doll

JAMIN
A huge noise?

MAMA NGOZI
Yes, she does that every time there is a huge noise

JAMIN
What causes the noise?

MAMA NGOZI
Sometimes, it can be that she didn’t take Akeem to school early, sometimes about food, sometimes about sex but today was because she didn’t cover her face in the house

JAMIN
Why will she so that? She is in the house

MAMA NGOZI
Well there is a stranger at home

JAMIN
Are you talking about me?

Mama Ngozi nods

JAMIN (CONT’D)
I am her brother

MAMA NGOZI
Well to Baba Akeem, you are just another man that can sleep with his wife

JAMIN
So anytime they have an argument she does this?

MAMA NGOZI
Yes Argument that involve crying and beating sometimes

JAMIN
How do you hear this and I don’t

MAMA NGOZI
We share the same bedroom wall

JAMIN
This needs to stop

He walks towards Nimah but Mama Ngozi stops him

MAMA NGOZI
What are you thinking of doing?

JAMIN
 Stop her obviously

MAMA NGOZI
Don’t try it, Mama Rashida in the third room from yours tried it once and she almost got stabbed with knife

JAMIN
What are you her neighbours doing about this?

MAMA NGOZI
It is not our business, don’t make yours

Mama Ngozi walks away while Jamin continue to watch his sister
