EXT. THE KHAN’S COURTYARD- AFTERNOON
Aisha walks into the Khan’s courtyard looking nervous, she hears footstep racing behind her and she looks back to Emily running behind her. She smiles at Emily
AISHA
Thank you for coming
EMILY
I can’t let you face the biggest program of your life alone but I still think you are making a mistake
AISHA
Still, thank you for coming
Aisha get to the entrance of the Khan’s meeting room and she hesitates
EMILY
Why are you not going in?
AISHA
I don’t know what to say
EMILY
It is not too late, we can still fix this
AISHA
You are suppose to tell me that I can do this
EMILY
Too bad I can’t do that
Aisha sighs in frustration
AISHA
How about you see this as a means to get power?
EMILY
What?
AISHA
You want me to get power, don’t you?
EMILY

AISHA
How about you see this as a means of getting power?

AISHA
You said it yourself that I am cuddling that girl, how about I protect every other foreign girl that comes into this village starting with that girl in my room

Emily looks confused at what she hearing

Emily chuckles as she paces with frustration and faces Aisha head on

Aisha looks surprise

Aisha looks confused as Emily looks at her with a pleading look. Abdul comes out of the Khan’s court and sees the tension between these two
ABDUL

Aisha breaks her gaze from Emily to look at Abdul, then she looks back at Emily
AISHA
I am sorry but I need to go
Aisha walks into The Khan’s meeting room where she sees the Khan on his throne with Halima sitting on a stool next to him. She sees a boiling Omar standing close to the Khan. She hears footsteps and looks back to see Abdul and Emily walk in. the Khan clears his voice and Aisha looks back at him
KHAN
I heard you kidnapped another man’s wife, is that true?
AIHA
I did not kidnap her, I only took her to protect her
KHAN
Protect her?
AISHA
Yes, I was only protecting her from her husband’s wrath
KHAN
Facing a man’s wrath is the duty of every woman in this village, it is not a big deal, return the girl to her husband
Emily sighs in defeat as Halima smiles
AISHA
I can’t do that my Khan
KHAN
What?
Aisha walks closer to the Khan with determination and confidence
AISHA
If she faces his wrath this time around, I am afraid that she will die
The Khan gives her a warning look
KHAN

He beat her blue black My Khan, he beat her till the extent that the girl’s face is beyond recognition. The doctor said that it was a miracle that she woke up again, I am afraid that if she goes back to him again and he beats her again, she might died
OMAR
Beating a woman who does not yield to our needs is our way of showing discipline
AISHA
If other men in this village beat their women the way you beat yours, how many women will be alive to yield to their needs
Omar shouts in a very loud voice
OMAR

KHAN
He is right, the girl belongs to him…I can’t give her to you
AISHA
I am not asking you to give her to me, all I ask is that you let her stay with me until she is strong enough to be beaten again

The Khan looks at Omar

The Khan turns back Aisha
KHAN

When I was came to this village, Omar laid his hands on me. Even though he knew that you have to choose from the foreign girls first, he still laid his hands on me. Men like him are govern by their anger, so my Khan you can’t trust the words of a man who lets his temper get in his way of service to you
At this junction, Omar is in rage and he calls Aisha’s in an angry loud voice before he lunges at her and tries to strangle her. The Khan looks so shocked at the turn of event
