I know what you are saying but why are you doing this?
MICHEAL
Okay, I feel guilty for your breakup with your friends
EPISODE 40
Bintu Salawa
INT. THE COMPANY- AFTERNOON
People
dressed in corporate clothes all move inside of a conference room with different
files in their hands. Wemimo who is at the front of the room next to the
projector gathers his document together into a file when a young, fair, slim
lady of average height walks up to Wemimo with her bright smile on her face
BINTU
SALAWA is classy, beautiful young lady in her early twenties
BINTU
Hey!
Wemimo looks up at her and smiles
back to her clearly stroked by her beauty
WEMIMO
Hey!
BINTU
Your
presentation was really amazing
WEMIMO
Really?
Bintu looks excited
BINTU
Of course,
I am sure you know that already
Wemimo chuckles
WEMIMO
Thank you
BINTU
It is
amazing how you merge two models with serious defect and fixed them in such a
way that they cancel out each other’s flaws and also solves the issue at hand.
I am amazed
WEMIMO
Now you are
just flattering me
BINTU
Actually I
am not, how did you do it?
WEMIMO
It just
came to me
BINTU
Come on,
share your secret
WEMIMO
I just
spent time at the company’s library going over their past cases
BINTU
So you got
your idea from here
Wemimo nods
BINTU
Why didn’t
I think of that… but it still doesn’t explain how you made two merged theories work, it is genius
WEMIMO
There we go
with the flattering again
BINTU
Do you have
a partner for the Suria Project?
WEMIMO
Not yet
BINTU
How about
we work together?
Wemimo chuckles
BINTU
I promise
to bring a lot to the table, come on… help a colleague out.
WEMIMO
I didn’t
caught your name, colleague
BINTU
Bintu
Salawa
WEMIMO
Salawa?
Bintu rolls her eyes
BINTU
Yeah, yeah,
my family owns a textile industry. So please can we skip the part where you try
to get to know me better because I am from a rich family and let just work
together. I just want to work with you
WEMIMO
I didn’t
know that
BINTU
That I want
to work with you?
WEMIMO
No, that
your family own a textile industry
BINTU
Oh, I
thought that… you don’t know that the Salawas own the textile industry in
Abeokuta?
WEMIMO
There are
many Salawas in Nigeria, how am I suppose to know that your Salawa owns the
textile industry in Abeokuta
BINTU
That is a
fair point… I thoug…
WEMIMO
Well, you
thought wrong, I am Wemimo Arotile but if you ask my father, he will say I am
Wemimo King
Bintu’s eyes widen in shock
BINTU
Wemimo
King? The bast….
WEMIMO
Yes, the
bastard son, which mean your family means nothing to me. If you want to work
with me, come to the Company’s library at 10am on Saturday
Guilt creeps into Bintu
BINTU
I am sorry
WEMIMO
It is fine,
I understand your plight
Wemimo walks out with his file
BACK TO PRESENT
INT. A FACTORY- MORNING
An older
Bintu is seen checking though some bail of fabrics with some of her employees behind
her. Even though she has put on more weight, she still looks so classy and
beautiful
Bintu looks
up and frowns when she sees Bankole walking towards her
BINTU
Seriously
you and your wife needs to come at the same time, you two are disturbing my
peace
BANKOLE
Jo has been
here?
BINTU
Yes and
what can I do for you Bankole?
BANKOLE
Bintu
please, I nee…
Bintu cuts in sharply
BINTU
I am going
to tell you the same thing I have been telling you and your wife for the past
two years. I am going to say the truth, nothing but the truth
BANKOLE
Even if the
truth hurts her?
BINTU
Even if the
truth hurts her and frankly, I hope it does
BANKOLE
I know you
hate my sister, I know you do but please, think about the past
BINTU
Don’t make
me do that because it is only going to add sulphur and brimstone to the fire of
hatred I already have for her
BANKOLE
Put your
hatred for her aside for once, you really believe she killed him?
BINTU
I don’t
know what to believe anymore, Bankole but after spending about five, six years
in your mother’s house rehearsing Ann’s court cases with her, I know your
sister has the motive to kill and been a public figure with a lot to lose, she
will do anything to get out of it
BANKOLE
That is not
true
BINTU
That is
exactly the truth and that is what I am going to tell the court. I am also
going to tell the court that your sister is a wicked woman and also a selfish
decision maker. I just wished Wemimo was not a victim of her bad decisions
At this point, Bankole becomes
upset
BANKOLE
So what,
because Wemimo was your saviour, should my sister burn at the stake for a
crime she didn’t commit
BINTU
I don’t
care if she does, I honestly don’t give a fuck if her head is cut off because
Wemimo is gone and he is not coming back
BANKOLE
You can’t
do this to her, everything you have is because of her
BINTU
Everything
I have is because of Wemimo, Imade messed up big time and she is not getting
out of this
BANKOLE
Not if I
can help it
BINTU
You are an
excellent lawyer, I accept that fact but there is nothing you can do for your
sister. The only person who can get your sister out of the mess she put herself
is Ann and she has turned her back on her, so good luck with that
BANKOLE
I just had
to try again
BINTU
Your sister
is going down and I am going to enjoy watching her downfall
Bankole walks out of the factory as
Bintu rubs her face in frustration
Next on Why?
ANN
You are
into her
WEMIMO
What?
ANN
When you
have feelings for a lady, you start to study with her to get closer to her
WEMIMO
That is not
true, I study with you and I am not in love with you
