INT. THE PENTHOUSE – IN THE DEAD OF THE NIGHT

Ann enters her study in her nightgown, face deprived of any makeup as she makes her way towards the table and sits in her chair. She opens her laptop and starts to work. But each time she sighs deeply and rubs her face before she looks into the air for some few minutes before she goes back to work

At a point, she suddenly closes the laptop and then rest her back on her chair with her eyes closed

FLASHBACK

FEW YEARS BEFORE THE PRESENT

INT. MURITALA MOHAMMED AIRPORT, LAGOS- AFTERNOON

Ann hurriedly walks into the VIP waiting room where he sees Imade and Wemimo on the long seat while Bankole paces. Imade and Wemimo stands up the moment she enters while Bankole sigh in relief

ANN

Hey!

WEMIMO

See, I told you she was going to make it

ANN

I am so sorry, the meeting took too long and then traffic

Bankole goes to hug her

BANKOLE

I thought you were not going to make it

He sigh in relief as he nooses into her neck. Wemimo and Imade smiles brightly as Ann wraps her hands round his waist

ANN

Well, I didn’t, sorry for coming late

A young lady in an official uniform comes into the room

YOUNG LADY

It is time

ANN

Come on, let go

She tries to pull him with his hand but is met with resistance. She looks back at him confused. Bankole looks nervous at he stares at Ann

ANN

What is it? Please don’t tell me, you got cold feet

WEMIMO

We are going to be just outside

ANN

What?

Wemimo and Imade leaves with a smile on their faces

ANN

(Perplexed) What is it?

He brings at a small box from his pocket. Ann’s eyebrow widens in surprise when she sees this

BANKOLE

I know you think it is cheesy

ANN

(In a soft voice) Bankole!

BANKOLE

But compared to the introduction ceremony I wanted, this is less cheesy

ANN

What?

BANKOLE

I know but Brother Wemimo talked me out of it, he said it is better I meet your dad as a lawyer than as a man with no job but I didn’t want to leave without you giving any assurance

Ann blushes then she stands on her toes and kisses him on the mouth

ANN

(With a soft smile) It is not cheesy, I love it

BANKOLE

Then…

He starts to open the box but Ann slaps her hand softly over his two hands which holds the small box

ANN

Ask me when you are back

BANKOLE

But…

ANN

I don’t need a ring to assure me of your love, I have your heart with me, that is enough assurance. I am going nowhere, so go and come back, I will be right here waiting for you

A warm smile envelope Bankole’s face as he caress her neck. Ann blushes when he moves his hand to her nape and bring her head closer to his before he takes her lip into his mouth

BACK TO PREVIOUS FLASHBACK

INT. THE PENTHOUSE – IN THE DEAD OF THE NIGHT

Tears rolls down from her eyes to her ear as she raises her head from where she rested it. She put her face into her hands as more tears pours into her hand. Few seconds later, she cleans her face with her hands and open her laptop to continue her work

Then suddenly, she flings her laptop into the wall which smashes the moment it hits the hard surface, throws her cell phone to the floor and then she violently throws the contents on her table away as she screams out loud and starts to cry

She lowers herself to the floor and wails bitterly with her shoulder shaking vigorously

HEAD BUTLER

IMADE

Am I under house arrest without my knowledge?
