…why are you letting her walk over you Roti?
ROTI works on his computer when ESOSA walks in with some files
Esosa: (stretches the file to Roti) this is the document you asked for
Roti: (without looking away from the computer) you can drop it on the table
Esosa: (drops the file on the table) Senator Ameberu wishes to know why you did not come as promised
Roti: oh (close his eyes in frustration) I was supposed to see him yesterday with Rere (sigh and faces Esosa) can you stall for me?
Esosa: (confuse) stall?
Roti: tell him that something came up and I can’t see him right now
Esosa: until when am I supposed to do that?
Roti: until I am sure that we will be working for him
Esosa: (looking more confuse) until you are sure that we are working for him, I thought working for him was a done deal
Roti: yes it was but there has been a little change in plan
Esosa: is the change having anything to do with the boss?
Roti: yes (faces the computer and continue working)
Esosa: (sits on the chair in front of him) why are you letting her walk over you Roti?
Roti: (upset) excuse me?
Esosa: I know how hard you worked to even get Senator Ameberu to look at you not to talk of the effort you put into making him give you the job. Why are you letting her tell you what to do?
Roti: first of all, she is not telling me what to do. We both agreed on the change and secondly, she is the boss
Esosa: so what? Where was she when you were busting your ass to even get a license to work as a campaign manager? Where was the so called boss when you were doing everything in your power to make this work?
Roti: (angry) like I said earlier, we are not sure if we are going to work for the senator, which means that we might and we might not (Esosa wants to talk but he holds his finger up) I am not done talking, whoever we decide to work for and when I say we, I am talking about Rere and I. whoever we decide to work for is none of your damn business. You just do your job
Esosa: (an sorry expression) it seems I have overstepped my limit
Roti: yes, you have
Esosa: I am sorry, I just wanted you to see things the way I see it
Roti: you need not concern yourself about that, I know what I am doing
Esosa: (she gets up and goes to the door. When she get to the door, she turns back to Roti) speaking of the boss, she is back
Roti: she is (she nods) how does she look?
Esosa: (confuse) what?
Roti: I mean, did she look happy?
Esosa: happy? Not so sure about that. She looks tired and when I say tired, she looks really worn out and in desperate need of sleep
Roti: (sigh heavily and stands up) tell Richard to see me in Rere’s office
