INT. INSIDE A HOSPITAL- NIGHT

Remilekun bits her finger nervously at the hospital’s waiting room. The waiting room is flooded with people walking up and down but Remilekun didn’t seems to notice that. Tears has drawn different pattern on her face as she just kept looking at one direction like she is waiting for someone.

Bode Johnson practically runs into the hospital’s waiting room. He looks around until he sees Remilekun shaking vigorously where she stood

BODE JOHNSON

Remilekun!

Remilekun looks back and sees her father

REMILEKUN

Dad!

New set of tears runs down her eyes as she runs into her father’s waiting arm and breathes in his scent. Then she suddenly withdraws back

REMILEKUN

You went to see her?

BODE JOHNSON

What?

Remilekun screams out loud

REMILEKUN

Don’t lie to me, you reek of her scent

Bode Johnson looks like he got caught telling a lie

BODE JOHNSON

I had to see her, something came up

REMILEKUN

How could you do this to me on my birthday?

BODE JOHNSON

Remilekun I can explain

REMILEKUN

No amount of explanation can fix this dad, you promised to take me to the cinema but instead, you disappointed me for your mistress. If you had shown up as expected, none of this would have happened. Mom wouldn’t have been in an accident if you had fulfilled your promise

Bode Johnson moves to touch her but she slaps his hand away

REMILEKUN (CONT’D)

Don’t touch me Dad, right now you are not my favourite person

Remilekun spots the doctor walking towards her, then she runs to meet him

REMILEKUN

How is she? How is my mom?

DOCTOR

Mr Johnson, please can we talk in my office

REMILEKUN

No, she is my mom, whatever you have to say, you should say it here

BODE JOHNSON

Yes Doctor, whatever it is, you can tell us here

The Doctor sigh heavily

DOCTOR

We tried our very best

REMILEKUN

No……no…….no, no, no, no

DOCTOR

But we lost her

REMILEKUN

Noooooooo

Bode Johnson closes his eyes in pain as Remilekun crumbles on the floor as she breaks down in tears

DOCTOR

I am so sorry for your loss

The doctor walks away, Bode moves to comfort his daughter but she slaps his hand away angrily

REMILEKUN

Don’t touch me

She stands up with tears flowing down her eyes vigorously

REMILEKUN

This is all your fault, as far as I am concerned, you killed her, you killed my mother

She walks away

OBA-ABASS

We cannot just leave that young lady there

We cannot do that, once we get back to the bus and back to Lagos, we can get help for her

The young man stops walking and faces them

FEMI

What is it? Did you see another guard?

YOUNG MAN

No but I need to go back

CECE

I thought you were helping us escape

YOUNG MAN

Yes I am but with that lady held captive they might find out that I helped you escape

CECE

And how is that a bad thing if you are leaving with us

YOUNG MAN

My parents will be killed for my sins and I can’t have that happening to them. I also plan on returning after my child has been born safely, if they find out I helped you people escape, I will have no home to come back to

CECE

Then how are we supposed to get back to our bus if you are here

YOUNG MAN

Keep going straight on this path, you will see my wife waiting. She knows the way out

OBA-ABASS

What should we tell her when we see her?

YOUNG MAN

She will recognize you when you see her (sighs) tell her I will find my way back to her

OBA-ABASS

Okay

The young man walks back to the village while the party continue to walk on the straight path. Few minutes later they see a woman sitting under a tree. The woman sees them and stands up to show her big belly. She smiles at the party and her smile gradually fades away when she discovers her husband missing

CECE

Are you looking for your husband?

The young woman nods

CECE

He could not be here with us because something happened and he had to go back to the village

The woman looks more worried

FEMI

Don’t worry, he said to tell you that he will find his way back to you

The young pregnant woman nods and smiles

REMILEKUN

Can I come down now?

FEMI

No we are not stopping

Remilekun rolls her eyes

OBA-ABASS

Please lead the way

The young pregnant woman replies in Yoruba language

YOUNG PREGNANT WOMAN

The pregnant woman looks confused
