EXT. SOMEWHERE IN THE FOREST- EVENING
Jamin watches Remilekun groaning in pain as he assist her in walking through the woods. He looks at her with sympathy but he quickly turn his face to the front when Remilekun looks at him
REMILEKUN
Please can we rest for some minutes, I am tired
Remilekun talks with great pain
JAMIN
Sure
Jamin releases her hand and help her to sit on the floor. He looks around and sees a fat, long stick. He picks it and walks back to Remilekun. He tears the hem of his shirt to make a long rope and he proceed to touch Remilekun’s injured leg but on contact, Remilekun slaps his hands away angrily
REMILEKUN
What are you doing?
JAMIN
I have seen this done in movies before, when a person is injured, they put a stick on the injured leg and tie a thin cloth round the leg. I don’t know if it will work but I can’t just sit and do nothing while you are in pain
Remilekun chuckles sadly
REMILEKUN
Pain? This is nothing compared to the pain I have been feeling for the past two years
She releases the leg and Jamin looks at her with concern before he put the stick on her injured leg
FLASHBACK-JAMIN-TWO YEARS AGO
INT. INSIDE A CHURCH- MORNING
The church is fully packed with people wearing black clothes. At the front is a white casket surrounded with flowers and close to the casket is a picture of Selma Johnson. Jamin sits at the back as he listens to the pastor in front. The atmosphere in the church is so sad as the people watch the pastor talk.
PASTOR
I am sure the world will miss her because Selma Johnson lived a good life helping the people and now we will invite the husband of the Diseased, Olabode Johnson to give the eulogy
Bode Johnson stands up in front with a sheet of paper from the same row Jamin is sitting and starts to walk to the front when suddenly Remilekun stands up in the front seat on the row next to the one Jamin is sitting and talks in a very loud, angry voice
REMILEKUN
He does not deserve to give the eulogy
The whole church chants what…. Then her maternal Grandma taps her
GRANDMA
What are you doing Remilekun?
REMILEKUN
I don’t think a man that needs to read from a piece of paper to talk about the woman he has been married to for more than twenty year deserve to say my mother’s eulogy
The people in the church starts to mumble, then the grandma stands up and faces Remilekun
GRANDMA
He is your father, you mother’s husband. He deserve to say her eulogy
REMILEKUN
If anyone is to say her eulogy, I think it is you Grandma. She was your daughter, you raised her for the better half of her life. Since you know everything about her, then who best say her eulogy if not you
Grandma talks to Bode Johnson
GRANDMA
She is been unrealisable, you go ahead and say it
REMILEKUN
I will not let him say it
Bode looks at Remilekun with pain in his eyes, then he goes back to his seat
PASTOR
Then I guess we will have the diseased mother, Mrs Dundu to say her eulogy
BACK TO PRESENT
EXT. SOMEWHERE IN THE WOODS- EVENING
Jamin knots the rope on Remilekun’s leg
JAMIN
You know I think it is badass
REMILEKUN
What is?
JAMIN
The way you said that your dad does not deserve to say your mom’s eulogy
REMILEKUN
(Chuckles) been rude to my dad is badass to you
JAMIN
Maybe you were a little rude but I am not looking at that aspect, I mean for you stand amidst a large crowd and tell the Almighty Olabode Johnson that he does not deserve to give his wife eulogy, I mean that takes guts and to me, that is bravely
Remeilekun sighs lightly
REMILEKUN
I didn’t know you came to her funeral
JAMIN
You didn’t let me talk remember
The two stares at each other suddenly they were interrupted by the sound of footsteps and they look up to find two angry huge guards looking at them.
