You are Imade King

EXT. THE RESORT IN GRANADA, SPAIN- EVENING

Imade runs away in tears while Micheal hurries after her

MICHEAL

Imade, wait

IMADE

Leave me alone

He runs faster and cuts her off. He holds her hand

MICHEAL

Are you okay?

She slaps his hands away

IMADE

I said leave me alone

The First Lady catches up to them

FIRST LADY

You heard the lady, she said you should leave her alone

MICHEAL

I just want to know if she is okay

FIRST LADY

Checking up on her is no longer your responsibility

MICHEAL

I don’t see her husband doing it

FIRST LADY

(Upset) Go back to your wife, now

Micheal reluctantly leaves and Imade rest her back to the wall and slides down to the floor. The First Lady moves closer to her

FIRST LADY

Are you okay?

IMADE

I am so sorry for ruining your dinner

FIRST LADY

It is fine, I get that you are in pain

IMADE

Still, I am sorry

FIRST LADY

So if I get the story right, your son who died is not Wemimo’s but Micheal’s

Imade nods

FIRST LADY

And his family didn’t want you because you were poor. So, Wemimo married you and raised your son as his own

IMADE

Yes (Cleaning tears from her eyes)

FIRST LADY

Wow! That was so noble of him

IMADE

Yes, it is and I just embarrassed him in here

FIRST LADY

And I heard you say they took everything from you… what did they take from you? Because from what I can see, they actually did you a favour. Did you think you would be where you are today if you had married their son?

IMADE

(Groans) I don’t want to hear this again

The First Lady squat before her and put her finger under Imade’s jaw, making eye contact with her

FIRST LADY

Maybe not, but it is the truth… look at you, you are Imade King, a millionaire. People envy you and a lot of women want to be you, to have what you have. You are more than just one man’s wife and trust me when I say, you would have been a nobody if you were Imade Omoloja

The First Lady scoffs

FIRST LADY

Even the name sound bland in my mouth

IMADE

What about how I feel? All you guys are taking about is the woman Wemimo made, what about the real me, the Imade who wants to be with the man she loves

FIRST LADY

You tried that, didn’t you? It didn’t work out. When things does not go the way you want, you either try another way or you move on. No use crying over spilled milk

She put her hand on Imade’s shoulder

FIRST LADY

You have a good thing with Wemimo, don’t blow it

The First Lady stands up

FIRST LADY

Don’t stay here for too long and you should apologize to your husband when you get back to your room

The older lady leaves

INT. A RESORT IN GRANADA, SPAIN- CONTINOUS

Imade enters their room to find Wemimo in bed, Imade turns to go to the bathroom

WEMIMO

We are going back home after the church service tomorrow

IMADE

We are not going to reception?

WEMIMO

IMADE

What about the networking?

WEMIMO

Am no longer in the mood for it

IMADE

We are suppose to go sightseeing

WEMIMO

If you want to stay back, be my guest. I will make arrangement for your stay but as far as I concerned, I am going back home tomorrow after the church service and not a minute after

IMADE

We came together, we should leave together… Wemimo, I am sorry abo….

He turns his back to her and faces the other side. Imade sighs and goes into the bathroom
