Rere Shapiro 27: Alex was just leaving after failing to make his point

Alex was just leaving after failing to make his point

INT. FRONT OF PRESIDENT’S OFFICE- MORNING
(Rere walks to the president’s secretary. The woman smiles when she sees Rere)

Sophie: Ms Shapiro

Rere: (smiling) Hello Sophie. How is work?

Sophie: fine

Rere: I can see that. Is the President in?

Sophie: yes, he is expecting you (Rere turns and open the door to the President’s office) but he is with someone (Rere enters already)

INT. PRESIDENT’S OFFICE- MORNING
(Inside the President’s office, she sees Alex standing in front of his father’s table)

Alex: (talking in a loud, angry voice) I don’t care about your damn election, I need you to stay out of my business

Nate: do you know that you are talking to your father?

Alex: when have you truly been a father to me, I want you off my case

Nate: (Nate sees Rere) Ms Shapiro

Rere: Mr President

Alex: (he turns and saw Rere. He looks dumbfounded as he stammers) R…Re…Re…Rere

Rere: (without smiling she faces Alex) hello (then faces Nate) I didn’t know you were with a guest, I will just...

Nate: no don’t leave. Alex was just leaving after failing to make his point

Alex: (Nate stands up) we are not done father (coming back to himself)

Nate: I think we are

Alex: I want you off my case

Nate: and I want you here with me helping with my re-election or don’t you want me to win the election

Alex: you can lose the election for all I care

Rere: Alex!

Alex: and frankly if you ask me, I think you don’t deserve to be re-elected. If tampering innocent people’s lives is what you do with your power, I don’t think you deserve to be called the president of this nation

Nate: (controlling his anger) you will do as I ask Alex

Alex: I came here out of the last ounce of respect I have for you, if you don’t stop meddling with my case, I will walk over you (he leaves)

Rere: that was intense (Nate goes back and sits down) I see you found a way to bring back your son

Nate: I don’t think I have

Rere: don’t worry, he will come around

Nate: I really don’t see his importance here

Rere: you don’t but I do (Nate sigh) you asked me to see you

Nate: yes (takes a file from his table and stretches it to Rere) that is the contract with Mark Malcolm. We have signed the deal.

Rere: which means we have funds (takes the document from him)

Nate: yes, am trusting you to handle that contract

Rere: am on it

Nate: alright

Rere: I will be on my way

Nate: (continuing his work) you may go (Rere leaves the office and sees Sophie coming in on her way out)

Rere: bye Sophie

Sophie: bye Ms Shapiro
