All you did, you did for you
INT. RERE’S OFFICE- NIGHT
(Rere walks to her balcony and sees the Diekola deep in thought. She sighs heavily and looks so down)
Rere: a penny for your thought (Diekola looks at her, Rere walks to her)
Diekola: the one of the two things in my life that have always makes me proud of myself is Ayo. As a widow who lost her husband at a very young age, knowing that I brought up a successful young woman has always made me consider myself the best mother in the world
Rere: like you said, you brought up a successful young woman, not a happy young woman
Diekola: all I did, I did for her
Rere: no, all you did, you did for you
Diekola: are you supporting her actions?
Rere: of course not
Diekola: she was in no condition to raise a child
Rere: but you were Senator, you could have let her have the baby and sent her back to school but you did not because you were thinking of what people will say about you and not what your daughter needs
Diekola: you don’t know what it is like to be a mother, I made a choice that I felt was good for my daughter as a mother
Rere: have made choices in my life Senator, choices that I hate myself for, choices that I will never forgive myself for and choice that I cannot correct but Senator, you can still correct this choice
Diekola: how can I do that? He is married already
Rere: am sure there are other ways that can put you in good grace with your daughter other than getting her married to her old flame
Diekola: what other ways?
Rere: that is for you to find out as a mother. For your daughter to do this, she is really hurting inside (Diekola nods) we are going on air in 10 minutes, you should prepare yourself
