(At night, Rere is seen in her office smoking when Roti comes in)
Roti: I want to know everything, I want to hear the entire truth

Rere: 25 years ago, my father took a rape case. It was not my father’s kind of case but my father felt pity for the victim so he took her case (smiling sadly) that was the kind of person he was and that case was supposed to be my father’s last case before he ventures into politics. The victim was raped by Bashorun’s first son, Bashorun been Bashorun tried to bribe my father into throwing the case but my father could not be bought so he used Ehosa who was my father’s partner to try and convince my father but my father stood his ground. Bashorun promised Ehosa attorney general if he was able to get my father off the case and when my father was not playing balls, Ehosa killed him in cold blood right before my eyes
Roti: oh my God that is terrible (pause) you said you saw it happened (Rere nods) but according to the case there was no witness
Rere: I was hiding like a coward behind a tree at the beach, it all happened suddenly. One minute my dad was talking and the next, he on the floor choking on his blood
Roti: after he was gone why didn’t you say anything?
Rere: my father asked me not to say anything, for the fear that he might kill me too
Roti: that is a big secret to keep
Rere: yes it is and Roti that is why I want him gone
Roti: if you want him gone then why are you helping him with his election
Rere: right when Ehosa feels that he has achieved his goals, I am going to drag the carpet of success right from underneath him
Roti: now I see the reason why you wanted to be friends with the Senate President, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Rere: something like that
Roti: your baby? Why kill your baby?
Rere: you know about that
Roti: that is because I am good at my job
Rere: the baby was a liability and killing my baby will always haunt me but if Ehosa gets what he decides, it is worth it
Roti: then why marry Alex, why did you marry Alex if you don’t want a baby with him and hate his father so much.
Rere: Ehosa was family to me and my father, my father trusted him and he betrayed my father. Alex is a very good man but he is the only way I can get to be family with Ehosa. I want to stand over Ehosa’s body and look into his eyes the way he looked into my father’s eyes and tell him I betrayed him, I want him to know that I the daughter he trusted betrayed him
Roti: and you want me to help you with this after using me
Rere: Roti…
Roti: (cut in sharply) shut up and let me talk (Rere keeps quiet) I asked you several times why Nate Ehosa must be president but you lied to me
Rere: I did not lie
Roti: you did and you are lying again
