Rere and the taxi Driver both enter the car at the same time and he drives through the street of Lagos. She looks through the window
FLASHBACK
INT. SOMWHERE IN HAWAII AIRPORT- NOON
(Rere sits in at the waiting area of Hawaii airport waiting patiently, then she hear her name been called repeatedly and she stands up to look for who is calling her and then she sees an older Arin looking left and right. Arin turns and sees her, then she walks towards him. Rere looks so shocked to see her) Arin!
Arin: (walks towards Rere with tears in her eyes) you know I never liked you right?
Rere: yes I know
Arin: no you don’t know. I hated how you took his love for granted and I hated how he kept waiting for you and yet you never saw him. I hated you for that
Rere: I understand
Arin: he never stopped loving you
Rere: I know, he is still a lawyer. Happy Alex will a photographer and not a lawyer
Arin: no matter what I did to make him forget you, he was just so in love with you. I thought if I give him a child, he will forget about you but it never happened. There were many times I saw torn up divorce papers in the waste bin, he stayed in the marriage because of our kids.
Rere: why are you telling me all of this?
Arin: I am sorry for the role I played in breakdown of your marriage
Rere: don’t blame yourself, I did that myself
Arin: no you don’t understand. I loved him back when we in school but he just sees me as a friend. I wanted him for myself and when I saw the hole in your marriage, I widen it
Rere: I put that hole in it, not you. It was all my fault
Arin: still it was hard for me to accept that you are the love of his life
Rere: yes, I am the love of his life but you, you are the mother of his children. You trump me and (smiling) do you know the best part of all this, I will be out of this world very soon which means you have the chance to be the love of his life
Arin: I am so sorry for what is happening to you (announcement about departure blows in the air)
Rere: that is my ride (smiling, then she move close to Arin and holds her hand) please give him the happiness I was so selfish to give him (she drops her hand and leaves)
BACK TO PRESENT
Rere sighs heavily as she looks into the street of Lagos with a sad look.
